Kelly FB Profile PicHello! My name is Kelly Wood and in December 2014 I started a mommy Meetup and Facebook group called Sippy Cups & Chardonnay to help moms in the Salt Lake Valley find other moms just like them and over the following year, along with over 500 moms, we turned it into a fun, wine drinking, 501(c)(3) that gives back all over Salt Lake County.

I grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa and now live in West Jordan, Utah with my husband, Steve, our three amazing kiddos (Farren, Olivia and Ethan), 5 chickens, 2 cats and a little dog. I have been a full-time air traffic controller since 2003, spending my first 7 years at Washington ARTCC (Air Route Traffic Control Center) in Leesburg, Virginia and the rest here at Salt Lake ARTCC. I love my job, but more than that I love to volunteer for the really rewarding stuff like at my kids’ school administering their Facebook page and their website. I am also a Cadette Girl Scout troop leader who loves to write, hang out with my family, paint, garden, travel, camp, research cool stuff to do in Salt Lake, host Whineless Wine Times, pot lucks, and all kinds of playdates.

I started this website to be a place to post all the cool places to go and things to see in the area, a few fun things to read, some resources for local moms, my go to websites, recipes, crafts, volunteer opportunities, and a list of events happening in our Meetup group. I hope you enjoy it and please join us on Facebook or Meetup if you’d like to meet other super awesome moms here in Salt Lake and to see the rest of our jam packed calendar!

  1. Thank you so much for your donation of backpacks with school supplies. What a delightful surprise to have one of your members drop off this wonderful gift to our school. I assure you that we appreciate these gifts and have shared them with students that were so happy to receive the awesome backpacks and supplies. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

  2. This is a thank you for the donation of school supplies to our Elementary school! We are so grateful for that outreach. We were able to offer these supplies not only to teachers to fill their rooms but also to students in need. We will give backpacks full of school supplies to new students throughout the year. Your donation makes a difference.
    Thank you!

  3. Thank you so much for the donation of Valentines to our School! We are in need of them for not only our Afterschool Program Valentine party but also for teachers who know that there are students in their class who will not have valentines to give to others.
